Holding became Arsenal’s third signing of the summer earlier in the transfer window after the Gunners moved quickly to snap up his services from Bolton Wanderers.
The 20-year-old defender was given something of a baptism of fire as he was thrown straight into the Arsenal starting line-up for Sunday’s 4-3 defeat by Liverpool at The Emirates.
Wilshere did not feature for Arsenal against the Reds but has lifted the lid on how he has been helping the Gunners’ latest signing adapt to life at The Emirates.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal Player, Wilshere said: “He’s a good lad.
“He has come from somewhere I know quite well. I spent six months at Bolton and he has come from there, so we have got quite a lot in common.
“That sums him up really [that he had never been to London]. He is very northern! He comes from the same area as Danny Welbeck so him and Danny have become quite close as well.
“He’s only 20 years old and he’s come down from Bolton on his own, so he has to get used to living in London. That’s why I have been talking to him, to help him settle.
Wilshere and Holding will be hoping to feature when Arsenal travel to defending champions Leicester City in the Premier League this weekend.
Holding is the third summer signing at Arsenal, behind Takuma Asano and Granit Xhaka.
