Bastian Schweinsteiger attended his first Manchester United game of the season as a supporter as the Red Devils beat Southampton on Friday night.

The Germany international is currently out-of-favour under Louis van Gaal’s successor Jose Mourinho after United’s disappointing fifth-place finish under the Dutchman last term.

Schweinsteiger hasn’t featured for the Red Devils so far this season and the former Bayern Munich midfielder was handed a watching brief for the visit of Southampton.

And the 32-year-old midfielder posted the above selfie on his Instagram page as Schweinsteiger cheered on his team-mates despite his uncertain future at Old Trafford.

Schweinsteiger wrote the following caption on the social media site:

United followed up their 3-1 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in their Premier League opener last weekend with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Southampton at Old Trafford on Friday night.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored in successive Premier League games as the Swedish striker guided a header past Fraser Forster before the 34-year-old added his second of the game from the penalty spot after half-time.
