Thierry Henry has warned Manchester City and Manchester United not to discount Chelsea in the Premier League title race.

The Red Devils cemented their place at the top of the Premier League table on Friday night after a 2-0 victory over Southampton at Old Trafford thanks to goals either side of half-time from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Manchester City, who appointed Pep Guardiola as Manuel Pellegrini’s successor earlier this year before the Spanish coach took over the reins this summer, have won back-to-back Premier League games, too.

Chelsea have also made a change of management ahead of 2016/17 Premier League season after former Juventus and Italy head coach Antonio Conte was appointed as Guus Hiddink’s successor.

The Blues left it late but secured a 2-1 victory over West Ham United at Stamford Bridge thanks to Diego Costa’s late winner.

Former Arsenal striker Henry believes Chelsea are dark horses to win the Premier League title this season.

Asked if Manchester United could win the title, Henry told Sky Sports:

“But don’t sleep on Chelsea. Them not having Europe will be a help. I’ll still go with Man City.”

Chelsea were Premier League title winners in 2015 but finished in tenth place last season.
