Antonio Conte praised Chelsea’s “intensity” in Saturday’s 3-0 win against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

The west London side ended a two-game losing run before the international break with a 2-0 victory over promoted side Hull City at the KCOM Stadium thanks to goals from Willian and Diego Costa.

Chelsea and Costa continued their excellent run of form in the Premier League’s early game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as the Spanish striker broke the deadlock against the defending champions.

Eden Hazard doubled the home side’s lead in the first half before former Crystal Palace and Liverpool winger Victor Moses secured three points after half-time in west London.

Betfair stopped taking bets on Conte to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked on Thursday evening despite Chelsea’s insistence that the Italian’s job was safe.

And the former Juventus boss was pleased with his players’ performance against Claudio Ranieri’s side to record back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since August.

“It was a good game. From the start I asked them to play well with intensity and to try to do what we are doing in training,” Conte told Sky Sports after their 3-0 win.

“I am very happy because I had a good reply. This is the best game for us. I saw good commitment. When you work hard it is important to have a good performance.”

Chelsea will host Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in their next Premier League game on Sunday evening.
