Arsene Wenger has revealed that he expects Mesut Ozil to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners host Swansea City on Saturday in the Premier League.

There had been concerns about the Germany midfielder’s fitness levels after he was substituted at half-time during his national team’s 2-0 win over Northern Ireland earlier this week.

However, the playmaker took to Twitter to reassure Arsenal fans that he had not suffered an injury in the wake of the World Cup qualifier.

And Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirmed on Thursday that Ozil appears to be fully fit as his team prepare to welcome Swansea to The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking at a pre-match news conference on Thursday morning, Wenger said of Ozil: “He told us he’s completely fit. We’ll see that today, if we have no bad news today. I see him later.

“I expect him to be available, especially because he’s only played one half, so he doesn’t need to be rested on Saturday.”

Arsenal head into Saturday’s game on the back of their 1-0 win over Burnley in the Premier League before the international break.
