Walcott scored two goals in the first half to send Arsenal on their way to a 3-2 victory over Swansea City on Saturday afternoon as the north London side made it six wins in a row in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old forward appears to have stepped his game up this season after coming in for criticism in recent years for failing to deliver on a consistent basis for the north London side.
Walcott has now scored seven goals and made two assists in all competitions for the Gunners so far this term.
And Wenger admits that he has been thrilled by the England international’s recent performances for his club.
Asked if Walcott looks a little bit more resilient this season, Wenger told his post-match news conference: “I would cut the ‘little bit’ off in your sentence and just say he’s much more resilient, and not a little bit.
“He could have had a hat-trick, or even four, because he had another chance from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. But he scored two goals. I think he’s got seven now, that’s quite encouraging.”
Arsenal take on Ludogorets in their next Champions League game on Wednesday night at The Emirates.
