The Reds were in impressive form ahead of the international break after goals from Roberto Firmino and James Milner sealed a 2-1 win against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
The 18-time English champions have won their last four Premier League games and Jurgen Klopp’s side have already beaten top-four rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester City.
The Merseyside outfit will host their bitter rivals Manchester United in their next Premier League game at Anfield on Monday night.
Former United striker Yorke explained why he considers Klopp’s impressive Liverpool side to be strong contenders for this season’s Premier League title.
“This is the year where four, even five, teams could win it,” said Yorke, speaking exclusively to 888sport.
“It’s very hard to predict who is going to win which is a good thing because in seasons past it was easy to say who would finish in the top two.
“That’s not the case anymore and Liverpool have a genuine chance of winning the Premier League this year that’s for sure.”
Liverpool are in fourth place in the Premier League table and two points behind current leaders Manchester City.
The Reds are unbeaten since a 2-0 loss to promoted side Burnley at Turf Moor in their second game of the Premier League campaign in August.
Klopp’s men beat United over two legs in their first ever meeting in Europe last season as Liverpool knocked their rivals out of the Europa League.
