Eden Hazard has revealed that Chelsea feel fitter than ever under new manager Antonio Conte after their gruelling pre-season regime.

The west London side made a sluggish start to last season under Jose Mourinho and failed to recover as their poor form led to the Portuguese coach’s sacking back in December, before the Blues slumped to a 10th placed finish in the Premier League.

Chelsea have made a mixed start to the new season under Conte but head into Saturday’s clash with Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on the back of their 2-0 win over Hull City before the international break.

The Blues are currently seventh in the table after suffering defeats by the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool this term.

However, Hazard feels that the west London side are more physically prepared for the season ahead than they were at the start of the last campaign.

Hazard is quoted as saying by The Daily Mirror: “We are fit because we ran a lot in pre-season!

“You need to do this to stay at the top. We want to improve with this manager [Conte].”
