The Senegal international was one of seven new arrivals at the Merseyside club in the summer transfer window as manager Jurgen Klopp looked to give his Reds squad a revamp following an eighth-place finish last term.
Mane has wasted no time having a telling impact on Liverpool’s performance after a return of three goals and one assist in the Merseyside outfit’s opening seven Premier League games of the 2016-17 season.
The African winger has scored against top-four rivals, defending Premier League champions Leicester City and promoted side Hull City – as well as terrorising the league’s best defence Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
And former Arsenal striker Wright says Mane has been his signing of the season so far after a series of eye-catching performances in Klopp’s Liverpool side.
Asked to name the standout summer signing on BT Sport’s Premier League tonight show, Wright said: “I’d go with Mane. I like Mane.”
Mane moved to Liverpool in a £30m deal from their Premier League rivals Southampton after being previously linked with a move to Manchester United.
