The Reds head into the game looking to continue their strong start to the season under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table and just two points behind leaders Manchester City after seven games of the new campaign.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are five points off top spot after the disappointment of their 1-1 draw with Stoke City before the international break.
Liverpool have already secured victories over the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester City so far this season.
And former Liverpool man Redknapp believes that the home side will have the edge at Anfield on Monday.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Redknapp said: “Anything can happen in these games but I just feel Liverpool, with the form of their players, the home advantage and the momentum they have, will come out on top.
“United aren’t that far away and a win over their biggest rivals at Anfield would be huge. It would put them level on points with Jurgen Klopp’s side but also give them a huge lift.”
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League and without a trophy last season, while Manchester United were fifth and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal.
