The Red Devils are in sixth place in the Premier League table and three points behind top-four rivals Liverpool, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualifying spot.
Jose Mourinho’s side drew 1-1 with Stoke City in their most-recent Premier League outing as United slumped to a return of four points from a possible 12 in their last four top-flight games.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have won their last four Premier League games thanks to victories over reigning champions Leicester City, top-four rivals Chelsea, Hull City and Swansea City.
Former Southampton midfielder Le Tissier is confident that Jurgen Klopp’s side will ease to a victory over their bitter rivals at Anfield on Monday night.
“I think that Klopp has had a bit more time with his team than Mourinho has and it’s reflected in the way they are formed. More cohesive is the word I’m looking for,” Le Tissier told Sky Sports.
“It’s probably a good time to play United in that sense, before Mourinho gets his team organised. He has suffocated games like this in the past but I think the energy of Klopp’s team will make the difference.”
Liverpool are in fourth place in the Premier League table and three points behind current leaders Manchester City.
The 18-time English champions have never won the Premier League crown.
