The German was brought in as Brendan Rodgers’ successor at Anfield back in October of last year following a stuttering start to the campaign under the Northern Irishman.
The 2015-16 campaign ultimately ended in disappointment for Liverpool and Klopp as the Reds ended up in eighth place in the Premier League table and also lost in the Europa League and League Cup finals.
However, there is a renewed sense of optimism around Anfield this season and there is a feeling that the Reds may be able to profit from their lack of European football by challenging in the Premier League.
And shot-stopper Karius, who joined the Reds from Mainz in the summer, feels that Liverpool have one of Europe’s best managers at the helm.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports before Monday’s clash with Manchester United, Karius said: “Jurgen Klopp is a big personality, he is known everywhere.
“He has done great things in Germany with Dortmund and he almost won everything that you can. He is a big manager.”
