The Blues were 3-0 winners against defending champions Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon thanks to goals from Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Victor Moses.
Chelsea have recorded back-to-back Premier League victories after Antonio Conte’s side lost to top-four rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in successive games to leave their title bid in doubt.
Former Leicester defender Elliott believes it would be foolish to discount Chelsea from the title race given the quality that Conte possesses in his Blues squad.
“I know you have a lot of in-form teams this season but Chelsea are too good a side to discount for the title,” Elliott told BBC Sport.
“They have lots of quality on the bench and on the pitch.
“They have those star players too. Oscar, Hazard, Willian. Not bad.”
Chelsea will host Manchester United in their next Premier League game at Stamford Bridge as Jose Mourinho returns to west London for the first time since his dismissal back in December.
The west London side won the Premier League title in 2015 but Chelsea limped to a tenth-place finish in a dismal defence of their top-flight crown last term.
Mourinho was sacked after Chelsea lost 2-1 at Leicester City, marking their nine defeat in the opening four months of the season.
