The Senegal international was one of Liverpool’s seven signings after the African winger moved to the Merseyside outfit in a £30m deal from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer transfer window.
The 18-time English champions are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table and three points behind leaders Manchester City thanks to Mane’s return of three goals and one assist.
Former Southampton midfielder Le Tissier believes the 24-year-old forward can prove the difference for Liverpool against United at Anfield on Monday night.
“He’s definitely a match-winner on his day and seems to be in one of those streaks of form where he’s playing as good as anybody,” Le Tissier told Sky Sports.
“It is another good test for him though in terms of standing up in big matches for a big club, not that Southampton aren’t that!
“He’s stood up to the test well so far and certainly didn’t do too bad in the first game of the season against Arsenal, so I think he’s able to produce on the big stage.”
Liverpool have already beaten top-four rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and reigning champions Leicester City in the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.
The Reds have won their last four Premier League games, while United have only collected four points from a possible 12.
Jose Mourinho’s side allowed a 1-0 lead to slip as the Red Devils drew 1-1 with Stoke City in their most-recent Premier League game.
