Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to admit that Arsenal were made to work hard for the three points after their 3-2 victory over Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday.

The north London side looked to be on their way towards a comfortable win after Theo Walcott scored twice in the first half, but the Swans pulled a goal back before half-time thanks to Gylfi Sigurdsson’s goal.

Ozil, who celebrated his 28th birthday on Saturday, then restored Arsenal’s two-goal cushion after the break, before Gonzalez Borja Baston swept home from inside the box to make it 3-2.

Arsenal’s task was made more difficult after Granit Xhaka was sent off in the 70th minute for a trip but the Gunners held on to take the three points and make it six wins in a row in the Premier League.

Ozil was clearly thrilled by the manner of the win as he celebrated the victory with a post on his personal Instagram account.

He shared the photo above from the game and wrote: “Not an easy match today. But level on points with @premierleague P1 and our sixth win in a row. 👍🔥⚽ #AFCvSCFC #AFC #Gunners @arsenal.”
