The north London side continued their fine start to the new campaign on Saturday with a battling 3-2 victory over Swansea City to make it six wins in a row in the Premier League.
That victory lifted Arsene Wenger’s men up to second place in the Premier League table and level on points with leaders Manchester City after eight games of the new campaign.
Arsenal have earned plenty of praise in recent weeks for their consistent displays since dropping points to Liverpool and Leicester in their opening two games of the season.
And former England international Hargreaves feels that Wenger’s side have improved their work off the ball this term.
Speaking to BT Sport on Saturday, Hargreaves said: “I think the biggest difference from last season is that they press the ball a little bit more.
“I thought out of possession Arsenal were one of the weaker teams in the Premier League but they look like they have added an intensity like Spurs or City.”
Arsenal return to Champions League action on Wednesday night with a home clash against Ludogorets at The Emirates having taken four points from their opening two games.
