Willian has taken to social media to thank Chelsea’s fans and his team-mates for their collective support after the death of his mother last week.

The Brazilian was granted compassionate leave by his club over the weekend as he sat out Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over defending champions Leicester City in the Premier League.

Goals from Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Victor Moses handed the west London side a comfortable win over Claudio Ranieri’s men and moved Chelsea up to fifth place in the table.

Chelsea’s goal-scorers dedicated their strikes to Willian following his family’s tragic loss.

And Willian was feeling the love on Saturday evening, as he took to social media to send a heartfelt message to thank his team-mates and all of his followers for their support.

Willian shared the photo above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “I want to thank affectionately to all my family, friends and fans who have expressed their sympathy and condolences for my great loss.

“By gestures and words of comfort, and for the affection and attention that had me and my family. God bless you all!”
