Jody Morris singled out Paul Pogba for special praise after Manchester United took a step closer towards the EFL Cup final by beating Hull City 2-0 at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

After a goalless first half, Juan Mata gave the Red Devils the lead in the 56th minute when he tapped home from close range after being found by Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Pogba was in fine form for the Red Devils and came close to adding a second when his curling free-kick hit the post.

Marouane Fellaini then came off the bench to nod home a second and give Manchester United control of the tie.

And former Chelsea midfielder Morris took to social media to praise Pogba for his performance against the Tigers as Manchester United took a lead into the return leg later this month.

Morris tweeted:

Pogba has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United first team this season since his arrival from Juventus in the summer transfer window.
