Ian Wright believes Dele Alli will swap Tottenham Hotspur for Real Madrid in the future.

The England midfielder has been in scintillating form for the north London club in recent weeks after a return of five goals in three Premier League games.

Alli scored either side of half-time in Tottenham’s 2-0 win against Premier League leaders Chelsea at White Hart Lane last week.

The 20-year-old has now scored 10 times in 19 appearances in the English top flight to match his tally from the 2015-16 season.

Alli has been linked with a move to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent days, while there also been reported interest from China.

Speaking to BBC’s 606 podcast after Tottenham’s 2-0 win against Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday evening, Wright backed Alli to opt for a move to Real Madrid ahead of the riches in China when the Spurs man eventually decides to seek a new challenge.

“I see Dele Alli at Real Madrid in some stage in his career,” Wright said.

“Even if China offered him £2m a week and Real Madrid offered him £150,000 a week, he’d go to Real Madrid.”

Wright added: “He can do anything he wants on a football pitch.”
