The Red Devils took a step closer towards qualification for the EFL Cup final on Tuesday night when they sealed a 2-0 win over Hull City at Old Trafford in the first leg of their semi-final clash.
Juan Mata gave the Red Devils the lead shortly after half-time, before substitute Marouane Fellaini made it 2-0 with a header.
Manchester United now turn their attentions towards their crunch Premier League clash against bitter local rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
And Mourinho admitted that there is plenty of room for improvement in all departments – including the club’s fans.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Tuesday’s game, Mourinho said: “Because this game is over, I think now about Sunday.
“I need to do better, the players need to do better, and the stadium has to do better, too.”
Manchester United head into the game in sixth place in the Premier League table and 10 points behind leaders Chelsea after 20 matches of the new campaign.
