Phil Neville hailed Juan Mata’s goal record after the midfielder scored Manchester United’s winner in a 2-0 victory over Hull City in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final.

The Spain international spoke about the threat that Hull posed in his personal blog One Hour Behind on Monday after the Tigers eased to a 2-0 win against Swansea City in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

Mata scored his seventh goal of the 2016-17 season to break the deadlock for the Red Devils in the second half after Henrikh Mkhitaryan teed up the Spanish midfielder in the 56th minute.

And former Manchester United defender Neville was full of praise for Mata after the playmaker’s second-half winner before Marouane Fellaini’s late second.
