Fernando Llorente would bring experience to the Chelsea side if the Swansea striker completes a January move to Stamford Bridge, says Chris Kirkland.

The Daily Star are reporting that Llorente will move to the Premier League leaders on loan until the end of the season as Antonio Conte looks to get Chelsea over the line in the title race.

The Blues manager signed Belgium international Michy Batshuayi in a £33m deal from Ligue 1 side Marseille in the summer transfer window.

Llorente moved to Swansea City in a transfer from Europa League champions Sevilla in the summer transfer window after having previously played under Conte at Juventus.

Indeed, the 31-year-old centre-forward won the Serie A title and the Supercoppa during his first season at Turin during Conte’s final term in charge of the Italian giants.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, former England and Liverpool goalkeeper Kirkland believes Llorente would be a good signing for Chelsea.

“He’d be able to hand the pressure with his experience, that’s for sure,” Kirkland said.

“He has played under Antonio Conte before. Conte knows exactly what he’s going to get. It looks like the writing is on the wall for Batshuayi at the minute. If this swap deal is possible, they’ll try and get it done.”
