Mesut Ozil has been offered a new Arsenal contract worth around £200,000 a week in wages, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is claiming that the Germany international has been handed the offer by the Gunners as the north London club look to try and tie him down to a new deal.

Ozil’s current Arsenal deal, like his team-mate Alexis Sanchez, is due to expire in the summer of 2018.

The same report in The Mirror claims that Sanchez has been offered a new contract worth £180,000 a week, placing him behind Ozil in the proposed pecking order at The Emirates.

Ozil has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking players since his arrival at Arsenal from Real Madrid in the summer of 2018.

Sanchez, meanwhile, has also seen his stock rise considerably since his move to The Emirates from Barcelona back in the summer of 2014.
