Arsene Wenger has reluctantly admitted that the Premier League title is now Chelsea’s to lose following the Blues’ brilliant start to the season under Antonio Conte.

The west London side are flying high at the top of the table and are currently nine points clear of second-placed Tottenham as they bid to win the title in Conte’s first season in charge.

Chelsea took another step towards winning the title last weekend when they secured a convincing 3-1 win over Arsenal to all but end the Gunners’ title hopes.

That defeat left Arsenal trailing the Blues by 12 points and in fourth place in the table as they turn their attentions towards securing Champions League qualification for next season.

And Wenger has admitted that the title is now Chelsea’s to lose this season following their fine form under Conte.

Wenger told Sky Sports: “It is true that it is Chelsea’s to lose now, they are in a position with no Europe, they can prepare week in, week out.

“But we have to fight like mad to come back and fight against the teams around us.

“We want to be as good as we can be until the end of the season of course, and see where we finish.”
