Michael Owen is backing Manchester United continue their FA Cup bid by beating Blackburn Rovers in their fifth-round tie on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils are looking to progress to the sixth round of the domestic cup competition as Jose Mourinho’s men bid to win silverware in the Portuguese coach’s first campaign at the club.

Mourinho will have his first shot at guiding Manchester United to a major trophy this season when the Red Devils take on Southampton in the EFL Cup final at Wembley later this month.

With Manchester United currently way off the pace in the race for the Premier League title, Mourinho is likely to be focusing his efforts on guiding the Red Devils to domestic honours.

And former Liverpool striker Owen is tipping the Red Devils to make easy work of their clash with Blackburn on Sunday afternoon.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “United are likely to make changes for the trip to Ewood Park but they have a quality squad who can cope with the workload and I expect Jose Mourinho’s side to win comfortably enough in ninety minutes.”
