Paul Merson doesn’t believe Manchester United will be slip up against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils have moved to within two points of fourth-placed Arsenal thanks to their 16-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Indeed, Mourinho’s side haven’t lost a Premier League or FA Cup game since a humbling 4-0 defeat by leaders Chelsea in October.

The 20-time English champions eased into the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to their 4-0 win against Championship side Wigan Athletic in the previous round.

Manchester United, of course, are the defending champions after a 2-1 extra-time win against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley last year.

Writing in his Sky Sports column ahead of Manchester United’s trip to Blackburn Rovers on Sunday afternoon, Merson tipped Manchester United to ease to a 3-0 win.

“I can’t see this being too difficult for Manchester United. One thing Jose Mourinho always does is take the cups seriously. They are already in the EFL Cup Final and I just don’t see them slipping up here,” Merson said.

“Blackburn are second bottom of the Championship and their priority has to be staying in that division this season.”
