Cesc Fabregas has admitted that he wouldn’t be the player he is today if it were not for his spell at Arsenal.

The Spanish midfielder spent eight years at the north London club before he opted to return to Barcelona in the summer of 2011.

Fabregas was made captain of Arsenal during his spell in north London but has since signed for the Gunners’ bitter local rivals Chelsea.

The 29-year-old helped the Blues win the Premier League title under Jose Mourinho in the 2014-15 season and will be hoping to collect his second winners’ medal this term.

The midfielder could be set to come up against his former club once again this weekend when Premier League leaders Chelsea host the Gunners at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime.

And Fabregas has revealed that he owes Arsenal a lot for the success he has enjoyed in his career.

Speaking in a revealing YouTube interview with Natacha Tannous, Fabregas said: “Arsenal will always be the team that believed in me the most.

“Without them, I wouldn’t be a World Cup winner or European Championship winner.”
