Willian has revealed that Antonio Conte is “more of a motivator” than Jose Mourinho and has praised the Italian for the big impact he has had at Chelsea this season.

The Italian coach has earned plenty of praise since taking over at Stamford Bridge in the summer following Mourinho’s sacking in December 2015.

Conte has made an instant impact at the west London club and has helped to guide the Blues to the top of the Premier League table to establish Chelsea as the firm favourites to win the title this season.

Much has been made of the positive impact Conte has had at Chelsea since his arrival at the club in the summer.

And Willian has lifted the lid on how the Italian’s methods compare to his predecessor at Stamford Bridge.

Willian was quoted as saying by Metro: “Antonio Conte always works hard with us. He prepares us precisely about every opposing side, so we can go into each game with the correct plan.

“He has different training methods to Jose Mourinho, and a different philosophy of football.

“He is more of a motivator than Jose, and expects us to play at full throttle.

“Mourinho is a terrific manager as well – he has won lots of trophies with Chelsea – but now Conte is continuing his good work.”
