Hazard, like many of his Chelsea team-mates, struggled to produce consistent form for the Blues last season as the west London club ended up in 10th place in the table and with their title defence in tatters.
Chelsea’s shocking form led to Mourinho’s sacking back in December 2015 as the Blues missed out on qualification for this season’s Champions League.
Hazard admits that he was far from his best for most of last season but felt that he improved towards the end of the campaign.
However, the 26-year-old has given a refreshingly honest take on how things panned out for him last term.
Asked what happened to his form last season, Hazard told Sky Sports: “Er… I don’t know. I don’t want to find excuses.
“It was a bad season for me and for Chelsea. We won the title and then maybe I had too much holiday.
“It’s difficult to come back for pre-season. I remember in the first game Thibaut [Courtois] got a red card and the season started very badly.
“After, we tried to do better and the end was a little bit better, I finished well, but it was a bad season.”
Chelsea are currently gearing up for their Premier League clash against Burnley at Turf Moor next weekend.
