The Italian manager has earned plenty of praise since his arrival at Stamford Bridge and has been credited with masterminding Chelsea’s dramatic transformation this term.
The Blues are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table and have established themselves as the heavy favourites to win the title this season after building a nine-point lead over second-placed Tottenham.
Chelsea’s remarkable upturn in form this season has been in stark contrast to their struggles last term, when they ended up 10th in the table and without a trophy.
And Zouma has lifted the lid on what it’s been like at Stamford Bridge this term, telling The Sun: “I am watching and learning about the defence all the time and listening to everything the manager says.
“The Italian style is very good for defenders. He shows us many videos and insists we focus on the details.
“He tells us ‘you cannot stand there, you need to be there because you’re dead if the ball goes over you in that position, so you must anticipate’. He’s a really nice guy who just loves football.
“He thinks, eats, sleeps football. It’s all he talks about.
“He’s so passionate about the game and he wants his players to be the same way.“That’s why we’re doing so well at the moment.”
Zouma has been missing for much of the campaign as he continued his recovery from a serious knee injury.
However, the defender recently returned to action and will be hoping to be involved for the Blues during the closing stages of the season.
