The France international started in the heart of the Red Devils midfielder alongside Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini.
The world-record signing pulled the strings for Jose Mourinho’s side as he produced a dominant performance against the Ligue 1 side in the first leg of the last 32 clash.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored an impressive hat-trick to secure a commanding first-leg lead for the Red Devils but it was Pogba who particularly stood out for a fine display.
Pogba came up against his older brother Florentin in the European clash as the midfielder looks to win his first European trophy.
Speaking to BT Sport after Manchester United’s emphatic win, former Red Devils striker Owen had his say on Pogba’s display.
“We’ve seen him in a couple of roles. He could have got on the score sheet with that free-kick in the end. I thought he played well and Manchester United played well,” Owen said.
Pogba moved to Manchester United in a world-record deal from Serie A champions Juventus in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table.
