Nathan Ake has revealed that Antonio Conte sees him as being able to play in a variety of positions following his return to Chelsea.

The Dutch defender was recalled to the Chelsea team last month after impressing during the first few months of the season during his loan spell at Bournemouth.

Ake has so far made one FA Cup appearance for the Blues since his return and will be hoping to hold down a regular spot in the Chelsea first team in the coming weeks and months.

And the defender has revealed the main positions that Conte expects Ake to play for the Blues in the future.

Speaking in an interview with The Daily Mail, Ake said: “The manager said he sees me in different positions, as a left wing-back and a left centre back.

“He told me to train well and wait for my opportunities. The first one in the FA Cup went quite well. It can always be better.

“Hopefully I can get more chances to express myself and show what I’ve learned over the last couple of years. That’s my main aim. I don’t want to look too far ahead.

“This is the road I took. It was a difficult one because everybody said it would be impossible to break through here. That’s why I want to break through. Just to show it is possible.”
