The Red Devils are approaching the end of their first campaign under new boss Mourinho as they look to finish in the top four and win a trophy.
Manchester United are looking to lift their first major trophy of the season when they take on Southampton in the EFL Cup final later this month.
There is bound to be plenty of speculation linking Manchester United with a host of players as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.
And Scholes has urged the Red Devils to consider bids for Atletico Madrid star Griezmann and Manchester City striker Aguero this summer.
Asked what Manchester United need in the summer transfer window, Scholes told The Daily Mail: “They’re only a couple of players away. I would bring in a controlling midfield player.
“A centre forward to help Ibrahimovic. Griezmann — or Aguero wouldn’t be bad!
“We’ll have to see defensively when they play Tottenham, City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
“That will determine whether he needs a centre half. Right back, left back not a problem. Goalkeeper not a problem, unless Real Madrid want him (David de Gea).”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season.
