Dietmar Hamann has admitted that he finds it difficult to see Chelsea slipping up in the race for the Premier League title this season.

The Blues underlined their status as the heavy favourites to win the Premier League title this season with a convincing 3-1 win over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea’s upturn in form under new boss Antonio Conte has been in stark contrast to their struggles last term, when they ended up in 10th place in the Premier League table and without a trophy.

Conte has earned plenty of praise for the impact he has had at Chelsea since his appointment last summer.

And Liverpool legend Hamann admits that he cannot envisage Chelsea being caught in the race for the Premier League title this season.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Hamann said: “They had a disappointing game against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge where Liverpool beat them.

“People were questioning the manager, whether or not he could adapt to the English league, will he last until Christmas? But what a turnaround.

“I watched him at Anfield in midweek and I’ve got to say I was mightily impressed.

“In [N’Golo] Kante they’ve probably got the best holding midfielder in the world, [Nemanja] Matic is an outstanding player too.

“At the base, the back three with David Luiz playing like Franz Beckenbauer of years gone by, like a sweeper. He’s very good on the ball and picks his challenges when he goes in.

“[Diego] Costa and [Eden] Hazard are the game changers.

“They look the real deal at the moment. It’s hard to seeing them slipping up.”
