The Spain international has been in superb form in the Premier League this season after having scored 15 times in 20 appearances in the 2016-17 campaign.
Costa has proven a key figure in Chelsea’s title bid although the Spanish forward missed a second-half penalty in a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night.
The 28-year-old striker will be hoping to get back to goal-scoring ways at Stamford Bridge this weekend when Chelsea host their bitter rivals Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon, former Juventus striker Ravanelli discussed what Costa brings to Conte’s team.
“It is great if you have a striker with the characteristics of Diego Costa. He scores the goals but he is also the first defender for Chelsea. He does a lot of pressing. I had those same characteristics. When I was playing, I’m sure Antonio the manager would have loved me!” Ravanelli said.
Chelsea are nine points clear of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League title race.
The Blues have won 15 of their last 17 games in the Premier League.
Conte’s men have only lost to Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham this term.
