Pundits react to Mata and Martial’s displays as Man United beat Watford 2-0

Juan Mata and Anthony Martial both earned praise on social media after Manchester United's win over Watford on Saturday

Phil Neville has taken to social media to praise Juan Mata for his performance after the Spaniard helped to fire Manchester United to victory over Watford on Saturday.

The Spanish playmaker broke the deadlock at Old Trafford in the 32nd minute as he found the net from close range following Anthony Martial’s clever pass.

The France international was restored to the starting line-up by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho and the striker did not disappoint with his fine display.

Martial put Manchester United 2-0 up in the 60th minute with a composed finish in front of the Stretford End after being put through by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Former Manchester United defender Neville took to social media to celebrate Mata’s opener at Old Trafford, after Jan Aage Fjortoft had also paid tribute to Martial’s display.

The win left Manchester United 11 points behind leaders Chelsea before the Blues take on Burnley at Turf Moor in their next game on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils are up to fifth in the Premier League table thanks to the win, which extended their unbeaten run in the top flight to 16 games.
