The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea in the Premier League on Tuesday night as they failed to beat the leaders at Anfield.
That result left Jurgen Klopp’s men 10 points behind the Blues in the race for the top flight title in the German coach’s first full season in charge on Merseyside.
Liverpool will be expecting to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window as Klopp looks to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
And former Liverpool captain Gerrard is tipping the Reds owners to fully back Klopp in the transfer market next summer.
Speaking to BT Sport after Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Tuesday night, Gerrard said: “I think Klopp will be backed [by the Liverpool owners in the summer].
“He doesn’t want to go into the transfer market in January because he doesn’t want to waste money on players he wants who are maybe not available.
“But I think come the summer we’ll see four or five additions to this squad and I think this Liverpool team will be stronger next season.”
Liverpool finished eighth in the Premier League last season after Klopp was appointed at Anfield in October 2015.
