The France international has been regularly touted as a possible transfer target for the Red Devils in recent weeks as Jose Mourinho begins to ponder bolstering his attacking options at Old Trafford in the summer.
Griezmann did not secure a transfer in the January window and former Liverpool captain Gerrard believes that is because he has some great chances of winning silverware with Atletico Madrid this season.
Speaking to BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show on Tuesday night, Gerrard said: “He’s playing in the Champions League with Atletico Madrid and has a chance at competing for that.
“He’s probably thinking that Manchester United is a big attractive move but that it will still be there in the summer.”
Manchester United are aiming to finish in the top four this season after the Red Devils ended up in fifth place in the top flight last term under Louis van Gaal.
The Red Devils won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last term as they missed out on a place in the Premier League.
