Michael Owen is tipping Tottenham to comfortably return to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday with victory over Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane.

The Lilywhites were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Southampton in midweek as they missed the chance to close the gap down to leaders Chelsea.

Spurs head into this weekend’s round of fixtures in second place in the table and nine points behind Chelsea.

Tottenham are widely expected to return to winning ways against Boro, and former Liverpool striker Owen admits that he cannot see past a Tottenham victory.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, former England star Owen said: “Spurs were disappointed to draw a blank at the Stadium Of Light earlier in the week but they have won their last six home league games at the Lane and I can’t see Boro taking anything from the fixture although they have picked up a point at both the Emirates and the Etihad already this season.”

Tottenham are aiming to build on their third-placed finish in the Premier League last season when they ended up behind Arsenal and champions Leicester.
