Piers Morgan has taken to social media to express his dismay at seeing Chelsea pull 19 points clear of Arsenal in the Premier League table.

The Blues secured a dramatic 2-1 win over Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon thanks to Gary Cahill’s late goal in the Premier League encounter.

Chelsea’s win came just hours after Arsenal lost further ground in the race for a top-four finish when they were beaten 3-1 by West Brom at The Hawthorns.

Saturday’s result left Arsenal in fifth place in the Premier League table and 19 points behind leaders Chelsea with 10 games left to play this season.

And celebrity Arsenal fan Morgan was clearly dismayed at the Gunners’ position in the Premier League table.

Morgan tweeted after the final whistle in the Chelsea game: “Chelsea 19 points ahead of Arsenal in mid-March. This count as ‘failure’, @OllieHolt22?”

Arsenal finished second in the Premier League table and without a trophy last season but face a fight on their hands to qualify for the Champions League next season.
