Golovkin is currently priced at odds of around only 1/8 with most bookmakers to win the fight against American challenger Jacobs, but both Paddy Power and Betfair are offering all new customers 5/1 on Golovkin to win.
Golovkin, or GGG (triple G) as he is affectionately known, is widely expected to beat Jacobs and his career record shows just why. The 34-year-old is unbeaten in all of his 36 fights so far in his career and has won 33 of those by knockout.
Golovkin has not stepped into the ring since he broke Kell Brook’s eye socket in a ferocious fight back in September.
Put simply, Jacobs is a much braver man than us!
The build-up to the fight has been fairly respectful, and GGG has simply described himself as “excited” as he prepares for the big bout in New York.
American Jacobs, meanwhile, had admitted that it a dream come true for him as he prepares to step out at the iconic venue on Saturday night.
The interest in this fight is huge and that means there is plenty of value to be had from the bookies. Scroll down to find out more.

Given his ridiculous record, it’s no surprise to see that Golovkin is the heavy favourite to win Saturday’s fight against Jacobs. It would take a brave man not to back Golovkin to win, with Jacobs currently the 5/1 outsider heading into the fight.
As mentioned above, both Paddy Power and Betfair are offering all new customers 5/1 enhanced odds on Golovkin to win the fight.

Gennady Golovkin: “I’m very excited, everybody on my team is ready, just a couple days before another amazing drama show. I hope Daniel is ready, I hope he’s had his best training camp, I have a great deal of respect for his team.”
Daniel Jacobs: “I don’t know if Golovkin is over-hyped but he’s being promoted as this fearsome guy and I don’t believe that to be the case because I don’t fear him. This is my opportunity to prove everything that I am and everything that he’s not. On paper this looks like a fight that won’t go the distance because we’ve both won all but three of our fights by KO. But I have prepared for everything and will do whatever it takes to get the victory.”
Gennady Golovkin’s fight against Daniel Jacobs takes place on Saturday 18 March 2017 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The bout will be shown live from 01:00 GMT (Sunday 19 March) on BoxNation, and it will also be shown on BT Sport. The main fight is expect to start at around 03:00 UK time on Sunday morning.
This is by far the biggest fight of Jacobs’ career and it is a fearsome one at that. It would take a brave man to back Jacobs to win on Saturday night, given GGG’s incredible record – so it really is hard to see past a comfortable win for the Kazakh. Golovkin is not the quickest fighter, but he more than makes up for that with some impressive footwork and he’s likely to have too much for the home favourite. Put bluntly, Jacobs will be outdone by Golovkin’s power and and technique and is more than likely to be knocked out. We’re backing Golovkin to win this fight by knockout and so you’d be wise to take up Paddy Power’s 5/1 enhanced odds on him to win.
