Jamie Carragher thought that Emre Can was one of Liverpool’s standout performers as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

James Milner gave the Reds the lead in the 51st minute from the penalty spot, but the hosts earned a point through Sergio Aguero’s equaliser in the 69th minute.

Can played the full 90 minutes for the Reds and was in good form for Jurgen Klopp’s men during the Premier League clash at The Etihad.

Carragher took to Twitter to respond to one fan who claimed that Can deserved special praise for his performance in the game.

User @dmmmurray7 said: “Emre can was superb. Great ball prior to penalty. Great to see given the stick he gets lately.”

To which former Liverpool defender Carragher responded: “Yes, one of his best games for @LFC.”
