Owen Hargreaves says finishing in the top four is still a realistic possibility for Manchester United this season

Owen Hargreaves says Manchester United still have a good chance of finishing in the top four this season.

The Red Devils have been in mixed form in recent weeks but successfully booked their place in the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday night in the wake of their FA Cup exit at the hands of Chelsea last week.

Manchester United are now preparing for their Premier League clash against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho’s men head into this weekend’s round of fixtures in the Premier League in sixth place in the table as they bid to haul themselves back into the Champions League qualification spots.

Hargreaves feels Manchester United still have a very good chance of finishing in the top four this season but would expect to see the Red Devils focus on the Europa League if they end up losing ground on the domestic front.

Speaking to BT Sport on Thursday night, Hargreaves said: “Top four is still a realistic possibility for Manchester United.

“If they win their games in hand they’ll be within touching distance.

“If they get out of touching distance, the Europa League will become a focal point.”
