Michael Owen says he cannot envisage anything but a win for Manchester City in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal.

Arsenal head into the game on the back of their 2-1 win over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Monday night as they kept their fading hopes of a top-four finish in the Premier League alive.

Manchester City, meanwhile, warmed up for the FA Cup clash with a 3-0 win over Southampton last weekend in the Premier League.

Neither side have been in particularly impressive form this season but former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen says he is fully expecting Manchester City to book their place in the last four of the FA Cup.

Owen wrote in his column for BetVictor: “The Gunners bounced back with a win at the Riverside on Monday night but hardly arrive in sparkling form and I can’t see beyond a City win on Sunday.

“Manchester City have progressed from each of their last eight FA Cup semi-finals, and 1/2 with BetVictor to do so again but the Citizens may be forced to work for their win, and I think the 21/10 for City to win and both teams to score is too big.”

The winner of Sunday’s clash will take on either Tottenham Hotspur or Chelsea in the final at Wembley next month.

Arsenal won the FA Cup title in 2014 and 2015 but finished second and without a trophy last season.
