Paul Merson is backing Manchester United to edge towards a 2-1 win against Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils were 2-0 winners against Premier League leaders Chelsea at Old Trafford last weekend thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera.

Manchester United are four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City in the race to secure a place in next season’s Champions League competition.

The 20-time English champions haven’t lost a Premier League fixture since a 4-0 defeat by current leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge back in October.

Burnley, on the other hand, have only lost four times at Turf Moor this season to help the Clarets to move clear of the relegation zone.

Writing in his Sky Sports column about Manchester United’s trip to Burnley, former Arsenal midfielder Merson said:

“This will be tough for Manchester United. We know Burnley are strong at Turf Moor and United have the added problem of playing after a Thursday night Europa League game.

“They will be confident after the big win over Chelsea but that will count for little if they don’t follow it up with another winning result on Super Sunday.
