The 19-year-old striker has been a regular fixture in the Red Devils first team under Mourinho despite not hitting the heights of last term, when he burst onto the scene under Louis van Gaal.
Rashford was in sublime form for the Red Devils on Sunday as he helped to inspire Mourinho’s men to a 2-0 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford.
The teenager has featured in 26 of Manchester United’s 31 Premier League games this season and has been in impressive form for the Red Devils.
And the Manchester United manager has explained just why he has been so thrilled with Rashford’s attitude at Old Trafford this season.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Carrington on Wednesday afternoon, Mourinho said: “Marcus Rashford, even without scoring goals, even without being since September scoring a goal in the Premier League, even without that he was always a player that I trust.
“He was always a player that I play, always a player that I support because he was always coming in my direction, in the direction of what I want from a player, what I want as a Manchester United player.”
Manchester United return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon with a trip to Burnley as they look to break back into the top four before the season is out.
