Manchester United are the frontrunners to sign James Rodriguez this summer as the Colombian midfielder looks to be reunited with Jose Mourinho, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Diario Gol, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that Rodriguez favours a move to Manchester United this summer amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

The same article states that the Colombia international wants Manchester United to sign Cristiano Ronaldo – too, with the pair currently team-mates at Real Madrid.

Indeed, the Spanish media outlet reveals that the pair share the same agent and Ronaldo was trying to convince Rodriguez to remain at The Bernabeu before the Portugal legend made his intentions to leave Spain clear.

Manchester United completed their first summer signing on Wednesday when the Red Devils signed Sweden international Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica.

Mourinho was appointed as Manchester United’s manager last summer and the Portuguese coach led the club to the Community Shield, the EFL Cup and the Europa League in his first season in charge.
