The 18-year-old’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months, with the highly-rated attacker having been linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs.
Arsenal were thought to be one of the clubs interested in signing Mbappe and Wenger confirmed that the Gunners were keeping an eye on his development earlier this month.
However, the Arsenal boss believes that Monaco are not going to consider selling Mbappe for anything less than £100m this summer.
Wenger is quoted as saying by Metro: “That’s not true [that Arsenal made a world-record offer for Mbappe]. People have a big imagination.
“What we know now with Mbappe it’s over £100m, after [that amount] it’s free to imagine what you want, but we’ve not made any offer.”
And the Arsenal manager reckons that Mbappe is likely to stay at Monaco beyond the summer transfer window.
He continued: “Yes, it looks like that [he will stay at Monaco].
“Too much choice, maybe. So in the end, people don’t move.”
Arsenal are currently preparing for the new Premier League season as they bid to try and win the title next term.
The Gunners finished in a disappointing fifth placed in the Premier League table last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification.
