Chelsea are hoping to utilise Juventus’ interest in Nemanja Matic to reduce Alex Sandro’s price, according to reports in England.

The Evening Standard is reporting that the Premier League champions are hoping to shave some millions off Juventus’ £65m asking price for the left-back.

The same article states that Chelsea are willing to cough up £61m to sign the South American defender to improve their wing-back options.

According to the same story, the Blues view Matic as a useful bargaining tool in negotiations with Juventus as Antonio Conte looks to finally land Sandro.

The Serie A champions were linked with a move to sign the Serbia international last summer but a deal failed to materialise as the Chelsea boss managed to keep the defensive midfielder.

Chelsea won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season after finishing seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues lost 2-1 to bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final as Conte missed out on a unique double in his first season in England.
