The Red Devils have concluded deals to sign both striker Romelu Lukaku and defender Victor Lindelof so far this summer but are on the lookout for further reinforcements.
Manchester United have been linked with a host of players throughout the summer transfer window as Mourinho prepares for his second season in charge at Old Trafford.
And the Portuguese coach has confirmed that Manchester United are still very much on the lookout for further reinforcements as they prepare for the new campaign.
Speaking at a news conference in LA on Friday, Mourinho said: “We don’t have our door closed, we are not happy with just Lukaku and Lindelof, we need more, we wanted four, so I would say 50 per cent of the job is done but I don’t want to say that because everything is so difficult.
“I would like to be in Ed Woodward’s position negotiating because everything is really difficult, so maybe we don’t get two, we get one but we need one more to give us more options.
“We have players that belong to the squad but cannot play for next few months, Rojo, Ashley Young, Luke Shaw, if Zlatan stays…”
Manchester United are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after they won the Europa League in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils also won the EFL Cup last term but they will be keen to improve their Premier League performances after they ended up in sixth place last term.
